OUR WORKSHOPS

Workshops are an extremely important part of the Abbondanza project.
This season we are focusing on transformation, making delicious products in your kitchen with fresh, local ingredients.
We are delighted to be collaborating again this season with a master of the art of making good food, a man who calls himself a "Permaculture Chef", Potton's own Jeremiah Bullied.

THE GARDEN OF EATING

Growing your own food is easier than you think. And so much fun.
Gwynne Basen has been doing it at Abbondanza Farm for the last 25 years and she has a basket full of tips and techniques to share as we tour her beautiful, award-winning gardens and see how it’s done.
Gwynne is committed to simplifying and reducing the work we do in our gardens to make it possible for us to keep on gardening at any age. And added bonus, the less we do, the better it is for the garden and the planet!
You will leave the workshop full of new knowledge and inspiration!

Sunday June 15  10:00 am - 1:00 pm

The workshop will be bilingual.

Cost: $40

Jeremiah is a professional chef, a food aficiando and a resident of Potton.

He is head chef at Les Cocagnes farm project in Frelighsburg.

Jeremiah likes to refer to himself as a "Permaculture" Chef and is passionate about tasty, healthy local food.

He is also a witty and wise teacher

And you will be astonished at how much better a home made pickle can be.
You will leave here with a jar of fabulous pickles and the inspiration to make more!

FUN WITH FERMENTATION

You can find fermented food in the diets of every human culture. The process makes foods both more nutritious as well as delicious. And hundreds of medical and scientific studies confirm what folklore has always known - the microscopic organisms that transform the food also extend its usefulness by helping people stay healthy.
During the workshop we will make Sauerkraut with organic root veggies, and Sauer brined mixed vegetable pickles with the freshest vegetables harvested right from our farm. Participants will prepare and take home a 1l jar of their choice of ferment.

Sunday October 5   10 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

The workshop will be bilingual.

Cost:$50
